GMX SMS is an Android app developed by GMX (1&1 Mail & Media GmbH Zweigniederlassung München Sapporobogen 6-8 DE-80637 München).

GMX SMS first became available on 25 Apr 2012. It is estimated that GMX SMS has been downloaded between 100000 and 500000 times from the Play Store.

GMX SMS 2.5.3 requires the following permissions:

Allows applications to access information about networks.

Allows an application to initiate a phone call without going through the Dialer user interface for the user to confirm the call.

Allows applications to change network connectivity state.

Allows applications to open network sockets.

Allows an application to read the user's contacts data.

Allows an application to read from external storage.

Allows read only access to phone state, including the phone number of the device, current cellular network information, the status of any ongoing calls, and a list of any PhoneAccounts registered on the device.

Allows an application to read SMS messages.

Allows an application to monitor incoming MMS messages.

Allows an application to receive SMS messages.

Allows access to the vibrator.

Allows using PowerManager WakeLocks to keep processor from sleeping or screen from dimming.

Allows an application to write to external storage.
